BACKGROUND / INTRODUCTION
South
Shore Imports (SSI), from its incorporation in June 2011, has grown and
developed under direction and founder of Chief Executive Officer: Gerald Maset,
to become an established and recognized company in the Civil Engineering, Glass,
General building, Tiling, Refrigeration (air-conditioning – Cold and Freezer
rooms) and Aluminium sector. As a 100% black owned business, all projects were
successfully completed over the past 2 and a half years, and ranges in value of
between R 12 000 and R 1 000 000.00
SSI has a magnitude of experience in all
sectors of the Glass, air-conditioning and Aluminium Industry from educational
facilities to industrial and commercial buildings and residential
refurbishments.
Contracts have been undertaken successfully all over the
Western and Eastern Cape, with the highest concentration in the George Municipal
area.
South Shore Imports is currently registered as a CIDB grade1, but is in
the process for re-evaluation for a higher grading.
The Civil Engineering
section of SSI is SANAS (South African National Accreditation System) accredited
in accordance with the recognised international standard ISO/IEC
17025:2005

The business is situated at no 12 Nelson Mandela
Boulevard, George Industria, George, Western Cape, South Africa. George is
situated in the Eden District Municipal area, and is the second largest city in
the Western Cape. The population in the George Municipal area is 193,672 (2011

FUTURE PLANS
To establish a branch
of SSI in the Northern Cape, addressing the Civil Engineering (soil testing,
concrete testing), General Building, Refrigeration—air-conditioning, Glass work,
Aluminium window frames (Manufacturing) Sectors.
Locating a Brick
Manufacturing plant in the Northern Cape (potentially in Upington). With this
endeavour much needed employment will be created, costs will at least be 20%
less then what suppliers are charging currently for the M6 Block and Maxi
Brick.
Supplying Glass, Aluminium and Air Conditioning at 30% less than the
leading Glass Suppliers (PG Glass and Glassfit)
